Body Memory
Body memory describes how the body stores experiences and emotions. Change processes cannot be controlled solely through thinking; they require the involvement of the body. The brain and body work closely together, and emotional blockages are anchored not just mentally, but also physically.
Simple Exercises to Try
Grounding: Stand with slightly bent knees, feet hip-width apart. Breathe deeply and notice how the floor supports you. Feel the contact of your feet with the ground and consciously release tension.
Shake to release tension: Stand upright, relax your knees, and gently shake your arms, shoulders, and legs. Breathe deeply and let go of daily stress.
Breathing exercise: With hands on your belly, breathe deeply and feel your belly expand. When exhaling, let the air escape slowly. This calms the mind and reduces stress.
